Mid-week Musings

I didn’t get to go on my usual Wednesday ride today. J was busy, I was extremely tired and just didn’t have it in me to bust out a solo. I came home and took a nap which was AWESOME!! But, I am really itching for a ride. I won’t be on the bike again until Friday and the thought of that is killing me. I know it’s only 2 days, but it feels like an eternity. Oh well.

I’m still waiting on my new 29er wheels and haven’t really done anything to the new frame except for installing the cranks. I also need a new seatpost, seatpost clamp and headset because those same items from my old frame are a different size and won’t transfer over. Well, the headset is the same size, but I had a cheap one on the Zion frame and I want to put a Chris King on the new Niner frame, so there’s that.

Money is a bit tight right now and if you are reading this, you probably know me well enough to know I don’t settle for the cheap stuff. That’s a little mis-leading I suppose. Since I’m able to get the shop discount, the difference between the cheap stuff and the better stuff really isn’t that significant. I could have it all for around $100. Still, a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. I’ll likely sell a few more extra parts to cover the cost. Thank goodness for Ebay!! I can’t wait until it’s finished though. It is going to be SO saweet!! I can smell it from here…

The initial results form the SS “69er” conversion are 100% positive!! I have several rides on it now and it get’s 2 thumbs up for sure. I am really liking the way it rides now. Climbing is so much nicer with the rigis fork and slightly reduced weight. And, the 29er wheel up front takes the edge off the rough stuf enough so that the bike rides very well. I am definitely going to stick with this set-up for awhile.

Until next time, seek your bliss.

Ride lots…
