Back to school and a new job
Yessiree–the kids are back in school–YEA!! I know that may sound like I’m glad to be rid of them, but that’s not entirely accurate. They seem to behave better when they have the daily routine school provides. Plus, school saps a little bit of the excess energy, so bedtime is easier.
Plus, it means getting in the weekday rides is a little easier. I can bust out a quick Fallbrook or Hodges ride before I have to pick them up and head off to Taekwondo. It will be nice to resume Wednesday rides at Hodges with J.
Speaking of rides, I have been getting in a pretty good number of them lately. 21 in August to be exact!! I have been riding the Singlespeed a lot the last week or so after not riding it much the beginning part of the month. Man I love that bike. It is so fun to ride. I love the way it pushes my pain threshold and makes trails harder. I rode it today at Los Penasquitos today and cleaned EVERYTHING!! I was actually a little surprised by that. I thought it would be harder than it was. Don’t get me wrong–it was very difficult in certain sections, but I was able to do it.
I also started a new job today. It’s only a part time gig–a couple Saturday’s a month. I needed some extra spending money for bike stuff, so I decided it was needed. And where do you think I might take on such a job???? A bike shop of course. I started at Beyond Bikes down in the northern part of San Diego. I had a good time today and think I’ll get the hang of things pretty quick. I’ll also get some kick ass, crazy discounts on bikes and parts. I hope this new job doesn’t end up costing me money.
Seek your bliss.
Ride lots…
